Olivia Charlebois is an alumnus of McGill University. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts, specializing in International Development and African Studies. During her degree, she participated in a Field Studies Semester in East Africa, which was the driving force in changing her perspective on development work. She strongly believes that development projects should come from within the community rather than from without. Since then, Olivia worked for a student travel agency. Through her work, she opened the minds of young adults by hopping on a bus or a plane to visit a community away from home. Through the years, she climbed the corporate ladder to become Manager of Operations, where her main focus was on building experiences for students that encouraged sustainable travel. With her experience in management, she began a Master of Science in Management, specializing in Strategy, at HEC Montreal. She is currently writing her thesis on the challenges of financing startups within the Quebec ecosystem.
