New Market Funds (Community Forward Fund)

Community Forward Fund Assistance Corp. (CFFAC) was established in 2011 and is a registered, non-profit fund manager. CFFAC helps non-profits, charities, and co-operative enterprises across Canada to grow, innovate and succeed by providing innovative, affordable and flexible financing. CFFAC is part of the New Market Funds (NMF) platform, an Impact Assets IA 50 impact fund manager, which also includes the NMF Rental Housing Fund and New Commons Development. The Summer Analyst will have the opportunity to be exposed to both the CFFAC financing work and the affordable housing financing. Canvas Impact Advisors
Canvas Impact Advisors is an impact investment advisory firm focused on mobilizing capital to drive social and environmental outcomes. Canvas develops effective strategies for deploying various types of capital, ranging from philanthropy to grants, to real assets and venture capital. Our focus sectors include climate, health, and food.
National Social Value Fund
The National Social Value Fund (NSVF) is a social finance organization and experiential learning program for students across Canada. We currently operate five local social value funds in Vancouver, Calgary, Kingston, London, and Montréal. Each social value fund is run by a self-formed student team, which identifies financing gaps in communities and provides capital to social enterprises, enterprising non-profits, co-ops, and other socially-focused organizations who are under-served by the current impact investing market. NSVF supports these teams through a learning platform and by connecting them to their peers across the country to share learnings and best practices.
Innovate Calgary is the technology transfer and business incubation centre of the University of Calgary offering intellectual property management and business incubator services to researchers, entrepreneurs and businesses within the innovation, research, and advanced technology sector. Innovate Calgary has evaluated over 1,600 discoveries, secured more than 600 patents and negotiated over 550 technology commercialization agreements in over 24 countries. Innovate Calgary’s Clinical and Social Innovation team focuses on translating research excellence into community impact.
Marigold Capital was formed in 2017 and is one of the most accomplished gender lens and social equity lens investors in Canada. Marigold invests in founders with technology-enabled products and services that deliver value to women, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour (BIPOC), and other underserved groups.
SVX is a non-profit, diversified financial services firm driving impact for investors, organizations, funds, and enterprises. Esplanade is the first accelerator and collaborative space dedicated to entrepreneurship and social innovation in Quebec. For more than 4 years, Esplanade has occupied an enviable position in the Montreal entrepreneurial ecosystem by bringing together and supporting entrepreneurs and social innovators wishing to have a positive societal impact. In collaboration with many partners, Esplanade has developed various activities; including the impact8 coaching programs and an investment platform to support entrepreneurs and managers in the development of their projects, their organizations and ultimately, increase their impact.
