Social innovation is the process of designing and implementing effective solutions to social and environmental issues. The solutions can come from a wide variety of organizations - small businesses, start-ups, non-profits, charities, and more.

Social finance is a tool that seeks to mobilize financial capital for the public good. It creates opportunities for investors to finance projects that create an impact. Investment examples include direct  investments into social enterprises, green bonds to build solar projects, and pay-for-performance/social impact bonds for health outcomes.
